About my work
In my work I deal with encounters and interpersonal relationships, but also with life itself with all its challenges that we face day in, day out. In particular, nature as a space for teaching and learning plays an important role for me. We can learn so much from nature if we are more conscious of it.
I love the fragility of paper, the art of reduction, the flowing deep black nature of ink, but also the strength of words. When you have a mind that doesn't stand still and likes to think outside the box, so many thoughts flow to paper. Since 2017, all those thoughts and inspirations have been flowing into my ongoing series "Tinker's Inks", which almost resembles a diary. The ink drawings are relics of a traveler, a thinker, a questioner, a world-watcher, a faller, a failer, a riser. Above all, they are my very personal reminders to encounter life as a doer and optimistic realist. Even if sometimes you don't feel like it - after all, we only have one shot at life.
